latest scans and tests
Hi, everyone. I just want to post the results of my latest tests fyi. I had a CT of my chest with contrast, which showed small stable bilateral pulmonary nodes (which are probably the remnants of my lung mets). There was no evidence of pathologic lymph node enlargement, though some scarring was noted. There was no change from my last scan in June which ws NED, and no pericardial or plueral effusion. It also mentioned that the thoracic aorta is calcified and tortuous without evidence of aneurism. My onc says everything is good.
I also had a brain MRI which showed no abnormal intracranial enhancement to suggest a mass, though there is a small eschemic venous anomaly within the right cerebellar atmosphere. THe onc said it was no problem, maybe just the way my brain is wired.
I didn't have any markers this time, don't know why, but they did do a her2-neu test, not the FISH, that was 7.2. Not sure what that means either.
I also had a lipid panel and other tests, the biggest problem that showed up was cholesterol of 265 (fasting), so I have to work on that.
The onc seemed happy with it, wants me to continue the femara, still no more herceptin, continue doing all I can to improve the heart.
So there it is. I guess I will just keep a'keepin on and have more scans in about 6 months. One thing I will continue is this website---it's addictive and I appreciate it and all of you very much. Hugs, Tricia

Tricia, what a wonderful report! You're doing so well, and I'm happy for you. Maybe that high cholestorol number was a fluke, but that is a fixable problem if it holds true.
Good job, girl!

That is wonderful news!
I know you had expressed some trepidation of being without your Herceptin safety net - but seems you had enough to get the beast under control.
Keep up with the rebounding daily and that should help keep your blood moving. And try to have a lower fat diet. They say that often we cancer survivors will pass away from some other health problem.
Also glad the brain MRI was clear - I also have a tiny place of ischemic anomoly visible. They said that could be from numerous causes and not to worry.
