Re: Changing perspectives about choosing treatment

That is an amazing article. How dramatically things are changing with "cancer" and the approach to cancer and DCIS. I love the name IDLE!

When my husband was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer the young intern told him he had 6 months to live. Our oncologist offered chemotherapy and my husband asked "well what will that do for me?"

As my husband tells the story the answer was "Well it will make your hair fall out, and make you sick as hell, and it might prolong your life."

My husband said "Heck No! I'm not doing that."

Fifteen years later nothing has changed. He never got better, he never got worse. He just keeps going on enjoying life.

He goes into the oncologist's office every 3 months and they spend the time bull shitting and cracking jokes.
