Hey sisters, thank you for helping me through the scanxiety last week, I really needed and appreciated your support!
Barb, it isn't so much the taste of the beet juice I love, its the mess I make when I juice it! But it helps keep the LFT's (liver function tests) in line...

Thanks for letting me know what LFT means. I have thought about juicing myself.
What is the test called that they check you liver with on your blood test?
The doctor really checked my liver when I went to Seattle for my second vaccine.
Do you think that juicing might help me to prevent the cancer in my liver?

Re LFT's
They check for liver enzymes with blood tests, on me they measure AST, ALT, Alk Phos, Bilirubin and a few others. My doctor put it as "seeing how hard your liver is working".
The beet juice, carrot salad, milk thistle bla bla bla may help to generally cleanse the liver and keep it healthy from a functional standpoint. I don't think it would have anything to do with preventing cancer recurrence, but if your liver is healthy it will be better able to process the myriad of drugs we put in our bloodstream.

Clean scan hat trick !!
Is the carrot salad the kind with raisins. I love that one.
When I make fresh beet juice I freeze half and use it later, so I don't have the mess too often. Some health food stores carry beet powder which can be added to spaghetti sauce, used as a spice or added to smoothies.

Elaine, when I make beet juice, I put it in an icecube tray and then it's easy to use later. Makes the mess a once a week affair! I actually love the carrot salad, I make it with carrots, lemon juice and olive oil, and "something else" which lately has been craisins. Sometimes I add toasted slivered almonds and it is SOOOO good!
