New Girls Today! Stoke the fire in celebration!
I had my exchange today with new soft, yes really soft, silicone implants. Oh! They are soooo nice looking! I hope they stay this squishy and comfortable. I am so very grateful to have new girls! Thank God for my smart, young (I didn't know whether to trust him or burp him when I first laid eyes on the boy!!!) plastic surgeon who spent all those years studying to give women their breasts back. I feel whole again!
Please throw several choice logs on the fire. I would, but I am not supposed to lift more than 10lbs. Yeah, that won't last long, my kitty weighs nearly 15lbs! Anyway, maybe we could blaze up the fire a bit and dance around it in celebration of my new girls?

MY STORY SO FAR ~~~~
Found suspicious lump 9/2000
Lumpectomy, then node dissection and port placement
Stage IIB, 8 pos nodes of 18, Grade 3, ER & PR -
Adriamycin 12 weekly, taxotere 4 rounds
36 rads - very little burning
3 mos after rads liver full of tumors, Stage IV Jan 2002, one spot on sternum
Weekly Taxol, Navelbine, Herceptin for 27 rounds to NED!
2003 & 2004 no active disease - 3 weekly Herceptin + Zometa
Jan 2005 two mets to brain - Gamma Knife on Jan 18
All clear until treated cerebellum spot showing activity on Jan 2006 brain MRI & brain PET
Brain surgery on Feb 9, 2006 - no cancer, 100% radiation necrosis - tumor was still dying
Continue as NED while on Herceptin & quarterly Zometa
Fall-2006 - off Zometa - watching one small brain spot (scar?)
2007 - spot/scar in brain stable - finished anticoagulation therapy for clot along my port-a-catheter - 3 angioplasties to unblock vena cava
2008 - Brain and body still NED! Port removed and scans in Dec.
Dec 2008 - stop Herceptin - Vaccine Trial at U of W begun in Oct. of 2011
STILL NED everywhere in Feb 2014 - on wing & prayer
7/14 - Started twice yearly Zometa for my bones
Jan. 2015 checkup still shows NED
2015 Neuropathy in feet - otherwise all OK - still NED.
Same news for 2016 and all of 2017.
Nov of 2017 - had small skin cancer removed from my face. Will have Zometa end of Jan. 2018.

Oh I am so happy with these new gals. The expanders felt like I was wearing a whale-boned corset around my chest. They just were not comfortable at all! It amazes me how much better I feel! I'm still dancing.....

Received 6doses of Taxotere, Carboplatin with Herceptin continuing for a year...DONE.
1/28/09 Left Modified Radical Mastectomy, Right Simple Mastectomy.
Surgery pathology: No invasive carcinoma present and 17 lymph nodes removed all negative! Only small amount of carcinoma in situ in left breast.
March/April '09, Radiation to left chest wall.
Currently involved in Neratinib clinical trial.

I think I've asked the question one time - perhaps not on the forum: "Would it be considered 'nude' and thus 'immoral' when a woman without breasts bares her chest in public?"
Just a curious thought I had after my bilateral mastectomy. Don't worry, I will not try it. I wasn't here during Women's liberation movement. I am also not a member of the nudist colony. 
Terry, are you using any kind of cream for the skin? My doctor gave me some sample cream during radiation and it helped. It's called 'Betamide Lotion: urea and lactic acid moisturizing lotion'.
[Correction (2/5/09): I think the Betamide Lotion was given for my cracked fingertips - sorry for my injured, chemoed brain. Recalled what Einstein and his proteges stated in the movie 'IQ': "Time does not exist" - I am having attention defecit disorder here - He also said 'God does not play dice...]

I think if there are no "nips" then it shouldn't be considered lewd or illegal. But who knows? Women can't breast feed in public without someone getting their panties wadded up.
Yes, I have creams. Using them. I'm in the homestretch tho. 3 more regulars and 5 boosts.
I'll take a sharpie marker, draw on some nips and dance around the campfire. Who's gonna arrest me?

I hesitate to bring this up, mostly because there are some things that you could get in trouble for just for knowing the facts, but in Oregon, women who have had mastectomies can go topless in public as long as they aren't lewd or sexually suggestive. So there you have it. Breasts are okay, it's the nipples that are naughty.

The Campfire
Yumm. The moroccan vegetable soup sounds good. What's in it? Here I have some extra veggies we can use. I asked a friend to "pick up a few things" for me from the health food store yesterday. She came back with bags and bags of wonderful, fresh, healthy things. I have been repackagaing, chopping, washing, cooking and freezing all morning. I can only eat so much in one day, no matter how healthy it is. When I cook like this I put half in the freezer for a future meal. I would love to share some fresh veggies with you all at the campfire.
