Re: The Campfire
I left you all a thermos of hot coffee, a thermos of hot green tea, some warm oatmeal, a few bagels and another thermos of mixed fruit juice. What can I say? I have been juicing again. I thought the warm things would take the chill off the fall days. Breakfast is good anytime of the day or night, so enjoy!!
Sorry about the thumbs down. I was trying for my usual happy face and made a boo boo. Oh well.

Re: The Campfire
Hi,
I just dropped by to warm up on this very windy evening in Hawaii and to sit awhile and think about my blessings.
I brought some homemade cranberry sauce and sweet potato pudding to share. I always make more than I can eat.

Mele Kalikimaka, Hauoli Makahiki Hou !!
(Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in Hawaiian)
Hey everybody,
I have been reading your posts in this thread and the thread I started about virtual Thanksgiving. Sharing our holiday experiences, feelings and memories has been wonderful.
Here is my suggestion
Let's have a holiday open house around the campfire !!
Feel free to drop by whenever you want to rest, pray, share memories, warm up, share food, decorate, celebrate whichever December and January holidays you celebrate. You will never feel alone at the campfire. It is our very own virtual retreat center !! I think Bill must be finished with the potty by now, so we shouldn't have to worry about that !!

Re: The Campfire
I'm feeling uncertain tonight. Came by to throw another log on the fire and listen to some good conversations.

Re: The Campfire
Tonya,
'Uneasy' or 'uncertain'?
Thanks for adding the log, it's burning quite well when I got here. So now I am cozy and warm. Felt like to turn in. How about 'you' start some 'conversation' - I'll catch up tomorrow...
Sleep tight...

Re: The Campfire
Hello, Ladies! I hope you're all warm and well. I thought I'd stop by, toss a few logs on the fire and take the chill off. I've brought a pot of turkey chili with me to simmer in case anyone gets hungry. Elaine, I know what you're thinking, but I also brought a strainer for you to use so that you can strain out the turkey. (Just put it into my mug, please).

Re: The Campfire
Thanks Bill !! The chili is good. I am dropping the turkey pieces I took out of my chili in your mug right now. I have a little tofuky and a few beans I can throw in mine to replace the turkey.
Chili is great on a cool winter evening.
I brought a little warm apple cider to keep us warm after we eat up all the chili.
What a cute grandaughter you have !!

Re: The Campfire
I think there is a book thread around here somewhere but I was too lazy to look for it. I want to recommend The Lovely Bones. Tough subject matter but a very interesting book. IMHO.

Re: The Campfire
Tossin' a log on the fire. There's been so much snow around here lately that we've let our fire dwindle a bit. I blame Lee, and that's easy for me to do because he's always the one to blame, as I left him in charge of wood-gathering and fire-tending, but oh, well.....Anyhow, I've scraped off a little snow from the wood-pile for Lee so he wouldn't get his hands cold and chucked some wood on the fire....

Re: The Campfire
Good to see you, Marcia. I just brought some mesquite logs from Central Texas that's good for B-B-Q. Thought Bill might have caught a rabbit or something while waiting for Lee...
[By the way, got a phone call from the geneticist of the hospital. She said the BRCA1 variant I have (v1247i) has just been taken off the list. Now we'll need to check into the HNPCC factor that could be the cause of my 2nd Brother's colon cancer and other cancers in the family - lymphoma, brain cancer...]
