Hi, Amanda, everyone here
totally relates to what you are feeling. The tears, the fears, the ups and downs.
When I was so sick from chemo, a 10 year breast cancer survivor...probably stage 2b, (whom I hardly knew... and a 15 year survivor by now...) sent me many cards in the mail, offering encouragement. They were beautiful messages of hope, and I will always remember her for her kindness.
One thing I especially remember, is her comment in regards to the sting of the cancer diagnosis. She said that believe it or not, as time passes, you will think less and less of the cancer. She said "I even have days when the thought of cancer does not come into my mind."
Now I cannot relate
at all to that last comment, but it must happen! To give you more encouragement, read the comment from a well known physician who specializes in Her2+ breast cancer:
Do most Her2+ breast cancer patients have a recurrence?
<O
No. Most don’t. Now days, for early stage breast cancer, stage I or stage II, since Herceptin, most of those patients are not recurring.
All the best to you, Amanda!
