People seem very shocked by this news about the virus. But I wonder if some day they will be able to figure out how it is transmitted. I wouldn't be suprised if it has something to do with our food and our genetics. If the baking of bread doesn't kill the virus, I would almost lay cards that wheat and oats are the big products of the american diet - and very much a food source for mice. - and possibly the mode of transmission. Wouldn't it be creepy if it were that easy? I never doubt that my genetic mutation was the cause of my cancer. I have see the statistics for Li-Fraumeni and even with my treatment, it is so irritating that my cancer came back. The testing we have now to test even the spread of disease is so limited - it's infuriating. I have a LOT of reasons to be angry... so I try to not focus so much on the "WHY" and try to seek knowledge of how to "FIX" it. I went through the phase, and now I need to figure out how to keep myself around longer. Unfortunately, I don't believe diet is the answer for me. So I keep digging for answers on how to fix my genetic problem. I strongly believe there is much less guilt that way. For a while, I didn't even feel like I could enjoy a soda because it had high fructose syrup in it. I've relaxed a lot and stopped beating myself up over diet, and it has made me a much happier and pleasant person. I hope the same for those of you who experienced what I did. It's not a happy life to live in fear and guilt. Peace, Julie
