Ma, I have been secretly reading this post while I away and routing for you. I am thrilled to see the end results are what others would call a failing grade. In this situation you passed with flying colors!! I must also say that I am proud that you celebrated afterwards too, this is what you can call a 'moment' to celebrate. Now please collect $200 and pass go, you are a winner in my book. Missed you so much.>>Believe51

Thanks so much for the "CHEERS"! After taking my gd to school early this morning (she works in the library on Wed. ams) I came home an settled in my favorite chair for a bit of news. But what I really thought about was all those days in "that other chair" hooked up to those many bags going into my port! Thinking back to spending at first 5 - 7 hours there and then working my way down to 1 - 1 1/2 hours of herceptin only. Mostly, I remember the other people and the struggles that they had with the chemos. I had 3 bad days: the one with the taxol reaction (fixed that with slowing it down and meds) but it scared me silly; the day I showed up with e-coli and really thought I was a gone-r; and the first time I had to take that goofy bag home with taxotere (or was it the adriamycin) in it. They don't do that anymore....I just knew that I would mess it up or it would stop or start or whatever could go wrong. But like everything else, I got used to it....but not the mouth sores....wanted to die!
So yesterday's news was so good! It was one of the things I dreamed of when I sat in that chair and tried to be cool and unworried. It was one of my dreams when I walked out by the water to look for the dophins when my mouth hurt so bad tears were streaming down my face.
I've kept my dream in my mind's eye all this time. And thank you God for allowing me the encouragement of having my gd around to know that this hasn't just been about me.
Whatever comes next, this has been great training for what life really is day to day for so many of us.
My journey has been rather easy in comparison to so many on this board. I had a "reason", support of my guy, incredible care from a fabulous doctor and his staff, and an environment that nurtured me. Most of all, I had this site (Christine's dream) that kept me informed, encouraged, and challenged. Thanks to many honest, outspoken, caring warriors who have walked the walk before me and with me.
Luv and thanks to all, ma

Hi Maryanne,

Such great news! I was wondering why you are having all these tests done. Here in the Netherlands we don't test that often. Did you have any symptoms? Or is your onc trying to reassure you that everything is fine?

Anyway, I'm glad your mind is at ease now. Go and have some fun!

Hugs

Jacqueline

Ma, your circle has ends that have met!! Today when I go to my Mother-in-Laws to pick up her bills I will have you on my mind. As I travel over the beautiful reservoir I will open the windows and let the breeze blow in. When the sun shines down on me and I feel the moisture on my skin I will smile thinking of you. The scream ride goes way back and I have joked about it, I have needed them, I have sometimes actually gone for them.

There are times that the ride does not hold a scream. These precious rides are my time to vent freely and actually sometimes contain uncontrollable laughter. So crossing the bridge and looking at the gorgeous sunset (cause they always are here) I will smile. One person I always envision in the car for the scream ride is you. Ma, no matter what the ride you are always by my side in the car.

Today when I go will be no different. Today you will be going with me and we will have fits of laughter and smiles. I am so happy for you.>>Believe51
