Hi Steph: I had an ultra sound of the breast and then a surgical breast biopsy before my mastectomy. No one ever suggested any other scans but now that you mention it it might have been a good idea. Thanks for the massage suggestion. I HAVE learned to manually drain the lymph fluid from my arm and side so that I am able to keep things from getting really out of control (it is a kind-of massage). Also, the radiation did me no favors, either as far as the lymphadema is concerned. But it's been 2 years and I'm still kicking so I can't complain too much. I told my Dr. that I had a 10 year old daughter and they had to give me 10 years to raise her up. (A lot to ask for considering the amount of disease present and the HER2+++ issue.) My daughter tells me I'm her "Broken Mommy" but she still loves me anyway. Take Care, Linda
