I have also never had a Muga, and perferred having the Echocardogram instead. It is also an acceptable method to monitor the heart w/o having injectable nuclear radioisotopes to enhance the heart valves. I figure the more nuclear or radiation I can avoid makes sense, and for some reason my doctors seem okay about it. I have never been asked for a Muga instead. I'm already glowing in the dark from brain rads.
However, upon joining a clinical trial, you must abide with the specified cardiac test.I thought you may like to ask your Onc's about this as well.

I have always had ECHO's with the understanding that if anything seems borderline or abnormal then a MUGA would be ordered.
I am thinking about the Vaccine/Herceptin trial being run at U. of W. and if I enter will be having a MUGA as that is a criteria for qualification.
Love, Lolly
