You did not say over what period of time your marker changes occurred. When I was first treated, it took until after I was finished with radiation (about 2-3 months after finishing chemo) for my makers (CA27-29 and CEA) to get into normal range.
Then I did get mets three months after that, but my CA27-29 registered 57 - so was a good indicator as went up from 21. Just make sure you get monitored as often as possible as long as they are NOT in normal range.
This same pattern was the case for me again with my mets treatment. I was NED after about 7 months on chemo, and have been ranging no more than 2 or 3 points for CA27-29 and even less for CEA for over 2 years.
