Hi Flori, I agree with Vickie in hoping you have it checked out by Monday.
My IBC rash came and went so I did not have a rash at dx.
I only say this because if a rash goes away it still can be IBC.

It is best to have it checked out.

I had the same thing happen a couple months ago and every thing turned out OK. I know your fear and its hard. Just try not to worry till you know for sure you have something to worry about.

Love and hugs,

Flori - you DO NOT have this, but I just wanted to make everyone aware of a rare form of cancer that can caused by radiation (perhaps too much radiation to a certain spot?)... a friend of mine was just dxed with it last week at MD Anderson. It is called "localized secondary radiation induced carcinoma of the breast", or angiosarcoma of the breast.

Hers started as a small pin-head size right at her incision area that looked a little like a blood blister. After about 6 weeks it was the size of a quarter. At about 8 weeks it took on a deep bruised purple color.

Hers is very treatable with surgery, as it is localized, and she has already had 3 weekly taxol treatments after which it has shrunk and lightened in color each time.

She has asked me to pass this info on to everyone and anyone who has ever had radiation of any kind, anywhere... these localized angiosarcomas can appear anywhere that has been radiated. But it is rare.

Now, back to you, my sweet. I am so sorry that you have this going on. I have a feeling that it is nothing ominous, but we bc patients are very keen to anything new and unusual going on in or on our bodies ~ that we can really get ourselves in a tizzy. That said, please be prudent and have it checked out ASAP.

Did the rash stay at the same intensity several hours after you showered or did it begin to fade? Hot water make me red and rashy after a shower, but goes away in time.

Hi Flori!
I hope this is just a rash and not anything serious. Sometimes it's so easy to think the worst. I hope it'll be gone as fast as it came poof!
take care!

Flori -

Sorry this is happening to you, but I agree with others- new soap, laundry detergent? I once used a different laundry detergent and broke out in exactly the kind of rash you are describing, only on my chest (years before my BC).

See how it goes over the weekend if your nerves can handle it, if not, call your onc.

Please keep us posted.

xo.

all the best
