T-dm1

Hi all,

Just a quick post to talk about the podcasts I'm listening to right now. It's bcupdate's review of SABCS2008 and no matter what the intended topic, each onc who is interviewed seems to get around to discussing T-DM1.

They are saying things like "it could become the choice for first-line treatment of HER2+ mets' (before Herceptin/chemo and/or lapatinib). There is evidently a study soon opening comparing it in that setting to Herceptin/chemo (sorry, can't remember the chemo but I think it's a taxane). And then they're talking of it for adjuvant treatment - less toxicity, perhaps more efficacy, convenience (q3weeks), no hair loss (which seems oddly important to these oncs - I guess because they want to keep their patients both happy and alive, which is reasonable).
