Femara Suppresses Estrogen more Completely than Arimidex

http://www.asco.org/ASCO/News/Cancer...eutersid=10447

Small study and there are no clinical implications to lowering estrogen alittle bit more with Femara versus Arimidex.

I think overall, you have to go with how you feel on the drug. Some of you have joint and muscle pain on one drug and switch to another and do well so you have to go by that.

The big (women wise) study will show if there are any long term implications between one drug or the other and I believe that there may not be any difference in clinical outcomes. Time will tell.

Becky, thanks for the article. Good timing. Just this week I stopped my Arimidex, giving it a week's break and then will resume my AIs with Femara. Reason being, early this week I woke up with SEVERE ache in my leg and could not walk! Scared the living __ out of me! I thought it was the Arimidex, but it turned out to be a cyatic nerve problem. The Arimidex may have exacerbated the problem. But anyway, I have been thinking of switching anyways due to my trigger thumb problem that IS from the Arimidex.
