Update on Joy 10/27

Hi everyone, this is Joy's sister. I just wanted to give a quick update on Joy and maybe get some advice. She has been taken off the Ixempra due to rising markers and severe neuropathy. Her oncologist is starting her on Doxil/cytotoxin and Herceptin tomorrow. Her thinking is that she has had good response to anthracyclines (sp?) before, she did well on epirubicin. She had talked about doing Herc. and Avastin last week but now she has changed her mind, she says because there is more than 50% liver involvement, she feels like Avastin may actually make things worse?? Also, she's not sure if her insurance would pay for it. It seems like on this board, BC Mets and YSC there are a lot of women on Avastin, and not many complaints about insurance problems. We are curious to get any of your thoughts about this treatment, Avastin and other treatment ideas. We feel like we are running out of options. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
