What an amazing person Sandy was. She took what many would perceive as a terrible circumstance and used it to help those around her, to live her own life to the fullest, and was still able to see the many blessings from God. It takes a very special person to be able to stand so tall and beautiful in such a situation. She has been such an inspiration to me and many many others. I know she is at peace and she is truely a hero in my eyes. We will miss you Sandy.
Love, Kelly

Oh man! This announcement hit me hard. I was just expecting Sandy to bounce back from this. I met Sandy at the Breast Cancer Conference in San Antonio in 2004.
She was a lovely, tenacious, courageous woman. I will miss her lively and informative posts.

I am heartbroken. I never expected Sandy's passing even though she started not doing too well in the last couple of weeks. She was a warrior woman and I expected her to turnaround.
I met Sandy at the 2006 San Antonio Breast Cancer symposium. She was hopeful (as Tykerb was working well at that point) and also sweet and thoughtful. She was also very funny and always upbeat. Sandy will be missed and this passing has hit me quite hard. Another sister is gone but never forgotten.
