Tumour Markers

(1) How can I figure out what tumour markers to watch for? and
(2) What is the appropriate 'range' to watch for?

I from British Columbia, Canada so was wondering if someone from Canada can help? Of course I would appreciate any information anyone has to offer on this.

Hi Sherry,

You will get a range of what TM's to get. The Her 2 one might be the best but is only for met patients for right now. Maybe your onc. would order them for you. But I just wanted to tell you that when you get your results back they have a range on the page and will tell you if you are in range or not. When mine went out of range and I wanted more information on it, they actually listed the name of the company whos test it was and I searched it and found out more info.

The 2 that are used for BC are CA 27-29; Ca 15-3; and some of us get CEA, which isn't a standard BC TM. My best to you.
