Fascinating article Lani. Are we really taking targeted therapies? We often use two or more chemo drugs and the tumour returns so we need to think differently I guess.

Re: Studying tumors differently, in hopes of outsmarting them NYTimes

chemo is not targetted --it works like carpet-bombing

herceptin, pertuzumab are targetted and work like smart bombs

TDM-1 is a smart bomb utilizing a Trojan horse like strategy to release chemo INSIDE only the cells that are targeted ...leaving the other cells unaffected, hopefully

Hope this helps

Hi Lani , thanks for the link.
It is timely as I am seeing my onc on monday and trying to talk him into adding in perjeta with my herceptin. I have been Ned for over 2 years but obviously worried about it coming back. Would like your opinion on this. I will definitely bring this article along.
