Little red dots

I went to my treatment yesterday and i pointed out some red dots on my arms that they said was petechiae. I have he'd red dots before on my arms and legs, does anyone have anything like that from their chemo? My platelets were at an acceptable rate and they don't get under 100 so they kind of don't know what the underlying cause is. I am fair skinned so i don't know if this is just my skin being sensitive or what. Trying not to freak, but hard not to. They said i should worry or call if they break through the skin, but still would like to know if anyone had this during their TCH treatments, or any chemo for that matter.

Re: Little red dots

I was on TCH and I had little red dots show up on my arms and a few on my chest. I looked up a picture of petechiae, because I thought it might be that, but petechiae seems to be pin point in size and many grouped together. Mine are random and look like small blood blisters.

Re: Little red dots

MaryAn,

It might be an autoimmune reaction to chemo/Herceptin.

I periodically get red dots in the area of my shin bones which appears to be a reaction to Herceptin. I haven't had it in a while, although I might get it more in the winter. But I can't remember specifically. I've never been told that my rash is petechiae, but I think that's what it is. It never bothers me. My only knowledge of petechiae is that it's an autoimmune reaction to people who have Hepatitis C for many years.
