Happy Valentine's Day to all....
Things have been crazy over the last few weeks. I caught a cold. For most people this is no big deal; but for my compromised immune system, this was not a good thing. It took nearly two weeks to get over it. Once I got better, I then broke out in hives. The itchiness was unbearable!! My onc put me on a Medrol (steroid) pack, and that cured the hives. All this put my treatments on hold. So, on Monday I FINALLY started Xeloda (chemo pills). I'll be taking this for one week on and one week off. I also got my monthly Fasoladex shot and yesterday, I got Herceptin. It's been a long time since I got Herceptin. They gave me Benadryl and Decadron as pre-meds. Benadryl put me to sleep, and Decadron kept me awake all night long. So far so good though. I feel pretty good and seem to be handling the Xeloda pretty well. My heart is great (got a MUGA) done last week. So that's it on the health front for now. You all remain in my prayers and thanks to all that keep me in their thoughts and prayers....Love to all!! Hi Maryanne! I'm glad your cold is gone, and it sounds like your treatments are going well. I'm sure your onc. said with the Xeloda, if you do have any side effects, to let them know right away. That's not one you want try to "tough it out with". Not sure what your dosage is, but if you do have any side efects, don't worry about them taking you off of it, typically, I believe, they just give you a week off, then resume at a lower dose. Diagnosed in Sept 2004 while pregnant with the second child. Stage 3b, tumor 4.5cm, 4 auxillary and supraclav node positive. Her2+++ FISH 9.4 and er-,pr-.
Had dose dense neoadjuvant AC,Taxol then mastectomy,radiation+xeloda+Herceptin.

Happy Valentine's day and thank you for the update. I hope that you are getting some special treatment for Valentine's day...you certainly deserve it. I am sorry that you caught a nasty cold.

We all knew your heart was great. Nice to have it confirmed by science. Hope you are able to get back on track with your treatment - I know what it's like when you have those meds arguing whether you should fall asleep or stay up all night cleaning.

29 March 2018 Lung biopsy following chest CT showing tumours in pleura of left lung, waiting for results to the question bc or ovarian
April 20, 2018 BC mets confirmed, ER/PR+ now Her2-
Questions about the possibility of ovarian spread and mets to bones so will be tested and monitored for these.
To begin new drug Palbociclib (Ibrance) along with Letrozole May, 2018.
Genetic testing of ovarian tumour and this new lung met will take months.
To see geneticist to be retested for BRCA this week....still BRCA VUS
CA125 has declined from 359 to 12 as of Aug.23/18

Diagnosed stage 2b in July 2003 (2.3 cm, HER2+, ER-/PR-, 7+ nodes). Treated with mastectomy (with immediate DIEP flap reconstruction), AC + T/Herceptin (off label). Cancer advanced to lung in Jan. 2007 (1 cm nodule). Started Herceptin every 3 weeks. Lung wedge resection April 2007. Cancer recurred in lung April 2008. RFA of lung in August 2008. 2nd annual brain MRI in Oct. 2008 discovered 2.6 cm cystic tumor in left frontal lobe. Craniotomy Oct. 2008 (ER-/PR-/HER2-) followed by targeted radiation (IMRT). Coughing up blood Feb. 2009. Thoractomy July 2009 to cut out fungal ball of common soil fungus (aspergillus) that grew in the RFA cavity (most likely inhaled while gardening). No cancer, only fungus. Removal of tiny melanoma from upper left arm, plus sentinel lymph node biopsy in Feb. 2016. Guardant Health liquid biopsy in Feb. 2016 showed mutations in 4 subtypes of TP53. Repeat of Guardant Health biopsy in Jana. 2021 showed 3 TP53 mutations, BRCA1 mutation and CHEK2 mutation. Invitae genetic testing showed negative for all of these. Living with MBC since 2007. Stopped Herceptin Hylecta (injection) treatment in March 2020. Recent 2021 annual CT of chest, abdomen and pelvis and annual brain MRI showed NED. Praying for NED forever!!
