ask for herceptin??

Today is a downer day. I am nearing the end of my radiation, but the machine broke and so I missed yesterday and today I am on hold until I receive a call. The drive is over and hour and I am so tired... Luckily, today my husband is driving. I guess this has me in a low mood. Here is my new worry for today. I am stage 1 with "extensive" microinvasion, er/pr+ and "strongly" her2neu+ according to FISH test. My onc. said I could have herceptin even without chemo, but he wonders if the FISH test was on the microinvasive section or not. I asked for the Onco type test and he at first said possible, but now feels unnecessary. All this rambling equals this: Do I ask for the herceptin? Do I ask (demand) the onco type test? I know so fully that I am fortunate to be at this stage where there are options, but I want to be fully informed and do the right thing. I am 47 and pre-menopausal. Thanks for any advice. susan

ki-67 level

Susan,
What was your ki-67 ?
This will be found on your path report and is a helpful indictor. Just went through this myself. You may find your proliferation is low and that may help with your decisions.

Good luck,
jean
