Cheaper herceptin in the future

Utilizing new technique using magnets during the manufacturing process could make it more efficient and cheaper!

Lani -
Thanks so much for that link.
Leave it to the Scots to make something as "obvious" as this an effective approach. If this method actually makes the drug work "better" then maybe I won't need so much to stay NED?

The cost of my Herceptin is over $6,000 every three weeks for the drug alone. I am sure that my insurance carrier and Medicare would be very glad to pay less!

(I just calculated that tomorrow I will be having my 115th Herceptin treatment !!!)

This could benefit many

I remember when I started on Herceptin almost 5 years ago, it was $12,000.00 every 3 weeks....after filing a claim with the attorney general in Illinois, the hospital reduced it for all who were on it, but it is slowly creeping back up....I now pay 7000.00 every 2 weeks for it.

i think this is probably part of the reason for the record number of foreclosures.

Late Herceptin

I've kept my port in, mostly for draws every 4 months for the clinical trial I've been in for the last 5 years. I hope I never need it, but it sounds great to me, Lani!
