Smile Latest scan update

Hello!

Mom just called from Houston where she was getting her three month scans. Good news!! All was clear except for the spot on her sternum that is half the size it was. So she will continue on Xeloda, Herceptin and Zometa for now. She said her oncologist was actually giddy when she gave her the news. Her oncologist still thinks she's a perfect candidate to receive Tykerb but since the current tx seems to be working, she wants to save it for later.

Thanks so much for all of the support and info you wonderful people provide.

Britt

Brief Mom History:
Dx March '04 Stage IV mets to Liver
9 rounds of Carbo/Taxol/Herceptin
Spine met popped up
Radiation to spine and switched tx to
Navelbine/Herceptin/Zometa
This combo knocked out the liver mets completely as well as the bone
Began having chest pain
Spot found on sternum and in some lymph nodes and breast
Tx switched to 6 months of FEC
Pain got worse, breast lumps larger
Tx switched to Xeloda/Herceptin/Zometa
Breast lumps gone, lymph nodes clear, 60% shrinkage of sternum spot
