Speeding up second opinions

My friend who has had a reoccurance is trying to get scheduled to go to MD Anderson for a second opinion. They are holding off on her surgery here till she gets the second opinion. Our Oncologist was suppose to set this up. It has been a week now and our Dr. assistant called her today and said that they still have not heard back from MD Anderson. She also said that MD Anderson will drag their feet in getting back to them unless she is planning on taking her treatments there. Do any of you have any suggestions or experience on how to deal with this. I know it took them forever to get my brother scheduled at MD Anderson and I don't think it's right, time is ticking and they don't seem to care...sherryg683

She should call herself and if she doesn't have the confidence to do so, you should volunteer to call for her (she should be present because sometimes you need some personal information like SS# etc for billing).

Time's a wastin' and she should take the bull by the horns.

Sherry,

Why not UCLA or Stanford? Doesn't she live in California?
