anyone have any experience with tumor assays?

Caryn will be going onto chemo again and a family friend, whose wife battled bc, is strongly suggesting a Dr in NY who does tumor assays to determine which chemo will be effective. Has anyone had experience with these?

I did contact the folks at Rational Therapeutics. They have very specific protocols for sample size and handling. I think it was $3500 or so for the tests. Seemed genuine in that they claimed increased accuracy, not 100%. i.e. another way to inform the choice.

Eric FYI

Eric,
This is written by a well respected oncologist in Orange County California.

Has Caryn looked into the Genomic Health Assay? It's expensive but is gaining in acceptance.

Thank you both. I'll let you know if I pursue this avenue at all.
