HOWDY!! from Suzan W

Hi All! It has been months since I have written, however I have read the messages whenever I have had an internet signal. So SAD at the women we have lost recently...My life is good. Been on the road with partner, Bette, our dog, Mel, 2 cats, Boy and Ollie, and now new puppy, Zia...a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel We have a Roadtrek conversion van and have been on the road since Feb. Checking back into WA for Dr's visits, family time (both son's wives are pregnant...2 grand kids due end of Nov! Imagine...GRAMMIES!!!). We have "officially" moved to our cabin in NM although we still have our house in WA. Being NM residents drastically improves our financial contributions to the Insurance Industry (aka vampires!). We will go back and forth between WA and NM and spend as much time as we can on the road because it is what we love to do!! And after all, if one can't do what one loves to do, then what is left to do, eh??!!! I will try to be better at keeping in touch because this board is one of my lifelines!!!

Welcome back Suzan

and good for you to be traveling so much. I might add that your new avatar shows how relaxed and well you're doing. What an exciting time in your life and it's wonderful that you're able to travel so much. How very exciting that you and Bette will be grammies. I visited Albuquerque on my way to Pagosa Springs, CO a few years back with my kids. It was beautiful. How nice that you have a cabin there.

How do Zia and the cats get along?

Hi Suzan! So very good to hear from you and know that you are doing well. How exciting your adventures must be. My husband and I love that life too. We're raising our granddaughter for now, but one day we will be foot loose and fancy free again.
Best wishes, ma

Hi Suzan,

What a coincidence that you posted today. Today I was looking at the pictures that appear when we log into her2support (so I could see Vanessa's smiling, beautiful face) and the picture directly following hers is yours. When I saw that picture I asked myself "self, I wonder how Suzane is doing?" Well, thankfully, here you are and you are doing well.

Thanks so much for taking the time to update us. We all care for each other and when one isn't around we worry and wonder.

Thanks be to God that all is well........

Mary Jo

Thumbs up Susan

How pleasant it is to get an update from you. You are in thoughts rather frequently. I especially remember you whenever Mighty Oak gets another 'growth ring'. Being as busy as you are I wanted to tell you, in case you missed it, Ed is in NED!! It is the tender, warm moments we have spent here since diagnosis that make me need to have you hear that. Your help and support shall never be forgotten.

I simply adore the newest picture of you. You are beautiful from the inside out and Ed and I are so thankful for having you in our world!! Travelling becomes you Susan, you look happy and healthy. Looks like you too have earned another 'growth ring' yourself Girl. Three years and counting, what a wonderful accomplishment. Here is to many many more.

So I leave telling you to keep doing what you are doing, you look and sound spectacular. Very happy to hear your 'voice' again!! Lots of love>>Believe51

It sounds like life is full of joy and fun -- and animals. Do you plan to keep adding to your menagerie, or are new dogs and cats something that just happen along. Congratulations on being grannies. Keep on truckin'

Hi Suzan, you DO look terrific. I'm glad you have been out tearing around the countryside together, although if you end up moving it will be Northwest's loss!

Affectionately,

APPENDICITIS...woke up with slight tummy ache . Decided to take trip, 4-5 days, to Santa Fe and Taos (from our cabin in Datil, NM). Still had tummy ache, must be gas. Eat rolaids. Tummy ache slight, but won't go away. Switch to Gas-X. Get to Santa Fe. Do the tourist thing with Bette and tummy ache...convinced that this bad gas just won't go away. Eat dinner. Bette gives me ultimatum...go to ER now, or never. OK. To ER. 7:00 pm. no fever, no nausea, just gas pain. Well, they decide to do CT scan...drink 3 courses of yummy banana contrast shake (now tummy feels really bad). Tummy ache getting a little worse. Takes 3 hours for contrast drinking, and CT scan. Now I am convinced it is only gas and I plan my escape from ER, so as not to be embarrased when doc comes back and says its gas. (You ALL know how we thhink the worst of any little pain or ache!). Well at midnight, doc comes back and says it is Appendicitis. WHAT??? I say? What do I do now? Well, he says, you have it out. OH NO...I tell him I am on my way to Taos and blah blah blah...well, at 2:00 AM I had my little appendicix out..laparoscopic...3 little holes. Out the same day, none the worse for wear! Go Figure!!!

I wondered how often we put ourself in danger just so we won't 'embarrass' ourself in front of our doctors. My doctors always think I am hypochondriac. Well, when you have two brain surgeries and two breast cancer surgeries - and none of them were diagnosed by my regular check-ups - you learn very quickly to watch for yourself and fend for yourself.

So glad you are O.K. now. Take care and have fun...
