Smile Good heart scan results and also herceptin approval Down Under

Hi everyone
I had a MUGA scan this week after 10 months on herceptin and my EF was exactly the same...63%. I take 200 mg Q 10 a day. I am sure this has helped. I was getting over a bout of pneumonia so my fitness level is really down.

Secondly the Australian government has approved herceptin for the PBS; which means early stage patients will be able to get it virtually free from Oct 1 2006. More than 2000 women will benefit immediately.

Cheers
Jackie

Wonderful, on both fronts!

Take care of yourself - who needs fighting pneumonia AND cancer at the same time!

Great news! I am fortunate that I have had herceptin from day one for early stage bc but my heart aches for a lot of women who have had a hard fight in the UK to get this.I'm so pleased to hear your news and also I've learned today this will be available to everyone in the Uk too! They now have another battle according to the bbc news with Avastin.I can't think of anything worse than for people to have to fight for these drugs with the added stress that brings knowing it may help them.Lets hope Avastin too will be available freely before too long as it is im cancer centre.
