progress in lymphedema research-- hormone may help prevent it, also metastatic spread

through lymphatics

Lymphedema is not a sexy topic for research so any progress in discovering its cause has been hard to come by, The researchers feel their research may also apply to preventing spread of metastases throught the lymphatics:

thanks Lani, I keep all the articles you post about lymphedema. Mine has really progressed and I can not control it. My docs just try to get me to go to more therapy. Unfortunately trials for lymhedema are rare, esp in my neighborhood.

had I known I would have posted more

here is a link to a researcher (I heard her speak --as I recall she is a PhD epidemiologist type, rather than an oncologist, surgeon or other MD)

She herself is a bc survivor with lymphedema and has started a clinical trial and in all likelihood knows about more clinical trials (perhaps new ones starting)

And, she is in OHIO!

PS. Have you tried gentle exercises in a swimming pool (indoor, of course, in Ohio in winter)?

Hope this helps!
