Rib soreness/pain

Hi everyone,

I was dx 5/05 with stage IIIc e/p- HER2+++. I was in a clinical trial and received FEC100 x4 and Taxotere/Xeloda x4 (all with Herceptin) followed by mastectomy (no sign of cancer), and radiation (x33). My radiation was completed in mid February and I just had my last Herceptin (1 year). About a month ago I started having pain in the ribs on the side of the mastectomy. It hurts to turn over at night and there is a very sore spot. My question...can this be from the radiation (4 months later)?

I enjoy the forum and although I don't usually post, I do appreciate the support.

Thanks,
Peggy

Have you seen the doctor about this? If not this is what I would do immediately if nothing else to rule any problem out. Good luck.

Rib Pin

Hi:

I would tell my oncologist and insist on a bone scan to rule out mets. Some of us on the website have had rib pain with Herceptin but it is best to make sure it is only a side affect of your treatment.
