Someone mentioned that you should be careful about iron consumtion if you have mets to the liver. I previously had one spot on my liver which disappeared after my initial chemo and herceptin. I recently had my ovaries taken out and before surgery my OB/GYN put me on Chromagen which contains 70mg of iron. I'm supposed to continue for 3 months. Is this too much? Thanks again for any input. Sally

GREAT topic...difficult to answer...like so many things that show up on these boards...sighh...it all DEPENDS... Many times cancer treatment itself drops the iron levels dangerously low, so some form of supplementing is probably unavoidable. I have always leaned on the side that less is more and try to just get enough iron from food sources, but without over doing it. Welches grape juice is a great iron source and yummy too. Sorry I can't be more helpful...Gina
