Tiffany--I'm so sorry for your distress! I pray you get everything you need to be well in body, mind, and spirit.
Juls--I hate scans! I know I need information, but I usually resist getting them too close together. In my case, anyway, changes don't seem to come on that fast or have unalterable consequences. Can you just cancel the scan appointment and get another one farther down the line? That's what I would do.
