Ive never heard of Tamoxifen and chemo interfering with each other. Particularly Tamoxifen interfering with Taxol. The two drugs have nothing in common as far as mechanism of action goes. Its usually the other way around ie other drugs interfere with Tamoxifen. Tamoxifen is a prodrug and becoomes an active metabolite in the body via the liver enzyme Cyp2D6. If a drug inhibits this enzyme it will decrease the action of Tamoxifen ie Fluoxetine (Prozac) and Buproprion (Wellbutrin). Ill check out Tamoxifen and Chemo.
