Re: Finger Nail Tips

Hi Tiffany
My Nurse suggested, before starting chemo, that I should wear dark nail varnish all the time. I did and nails were not too bad. Also told to avoid the shellac type, because light used to set, until after last chemo. Recently I've been going to Beautician for shellac varnish. Nails have not been as soft or brittle! In fact they are actually growing past fingertips for first time in years.
I think once you are off chemo they will improve.
It will be interesting to see how my nails react with new treatment which is due to start in a few weeks!
Re the cuts-
i started to get little cuts while on Xeloda - found a product called new skin that you paint on the cuts to protect. It is a Germolene product here - not sure if you can get in Canada but maybe something similar is available!
