Dr Sarah Cant, Policy Manager at Breakthrough Breast Cancer, says: "This review looks at whether breast screening might be improved in the future by targeting women at higher than average genetic risk of breast cancer. It raises interesting questions about how information on risk could be used to help decide who is eligible for screening. However, breast cancer risk is affected by lifestyle and environment as well as genetics.
