Why don't they just go straight to breast MRIs for women who have dense breasts? - after the initial mammogram, women with breasts over 50% density should have breast MRIs for all future imaging. Bypass the mammogram and ultrasounds - they did nothing for me. In July 2006 I had a "clean" mammogram and ultrasound - went in for a breast reduction in October 2006 - my plastic surgeon found my 1.7 cm. IDC tumour.
Yes, I know there can be false positives on breast MRIs, but I'd rather that than a false negative with other useless imaging.
