Currently there is a campaign in Scotland about being overweight and cancer risk. I don't fit the profile either - non smoker, non drinker & not particularly overweight etc. Prior to my diagnosis no others in my large family. Then all of a sudden my Paternal Uncle in his 80's - Pancreatic cancer. My 23 yr old niece (sisters daughter) ovarian cancer( fortunately caught early! My youngest Sister had treatment 15 years ago for skin cancer but we were told it was most likely that it was caused by being very fair skinned & living in Spain for years. When mentioned to doctors, especially about my niece & I, they don't seem interested in a possible connection!

The trial I'm on do a Genetic test for all patients but don't pass it to Doctor unless they ask! Seems a bit ridiculous that its done but not passed on. I am going to request report at my next visit.

Like you Tiffany I think we will probably never know why!
