Tykerb Update
For the past 18 months my CA 27-29 has been elevated, slowly rising until it
reached its high in March of this year of 390. We were attributing this to
my brain mets as there was no other manifestation of mets to be seen.
Well, after 2 1/2 months on Tykerb and Xeloda, my lab report just came back
at 37!!! That's considered normal according to the lab running my tests.
Everything else liver enzymes, and other blood counts are normal as well. This
was my second best news this year after the MRI in Mid June that showed all
was clear with my brain mets.
This past 18 months has been stressful and a bit scary for me, brain mets
for some reason seems to produce more anxiety for me than the liver or bone mets
do. So getting a reprieve--for however long it is, is more than welcome
right now.
So NED for now, and cautiously optimistic that I may host him for a
while....So cool for this to happen just in time to enjoy my summer!!!
I hope everyone is doing well and has a great week-end, we are taking the
boat out to the lake by our house for some water-skiing this afternoon.
