Michele, I am so glad to hear your hanging in there and doing pretty well all things considered. It sounds like the Tykerb is like most the other chemo's as far as the 3rd day being the worse when the wonderful side affects hit. Diarrhea is not one of my favorites as it keeps you tied down a bit. Can't wander off to far. So you have fined tuned your dosage...I think you have this wired.

It sounds like Tykerb like many different drugs ruins your taste buds/appetite. I hope your managing to get something down because you don't sound like you can afford to lose too much weight. One heck of a way to diet. Your going to tough this out another 2 or 3 months. Wow...you go girl. Have your labs been ok on the Tykerb? Have you needed any Procrit or Neulasta, or are you holding up ok on that end? Thanks for the update...I have been really curious as to how you were holding up. I'm glad your hanging in there.

9-28-09 Loading dose of Herceptin & started Zometa
9-29-09 Power Port Placement
10-24-09 Mass 6.4 x 4.7 cm on Rt. femur head.
11-19-09 RT. Femur surgery - Rod placed
12-7-09 Navelbine added to Herceptin/Zometa.
3-23-10 Ten days of rads to RT femur. Completed.
4-05-10 Quit Navelbine--Herceptin/Zometa alone.
5-4-10 Appt. with Dr. Slamon to see what is next? Waiting on FISH results from femur biopsy.
Results to FISH was unsuccessful--this happens less then 2% of the time.
7-7-10 Recurrence to RT axilla again. Back to UCLA for options.
