Re: Molecular Breast Imaging Is Superior to Ultrasound and Mammography for the Detect

I had one 3 years ago. They are so sensitive that it was the first time in my entire life I had a Birads 1 reading.

However, the radiation involved is 8-10X the amount of a mammogram so I decided I would use it if I had to "go back for more pictures".

They have one an hour from me in Philly at Jefferson.

You go in and get a shot in a vein in the arm. They take you in the room and you wait alittle while (maybe 15 minutes). Then you get on a machine like a mammogram (but you sit). It is like a mammogram but they don't have to squeeze but they have to take the picture for a long time. You get 2 pictures of each breast just like a mammogram (but each picture takes 10 minutes to take). It takes a long time.
