Gamma-knife is quite effective in controlling brain mets with the least side effect. Though she will probably be feeling 'tired' after the treatment as I imagine they are going to do the 'zapping' 8 times. I'd had the GKRS 13 years ago for a rare type of brain tumor (now reclassified as Grade II) They did 3 'shots' because there were 3 tumors.

Several long-time members are brain mets survivors. Exercise will help improve the neurological function. I was feeling 'smarter' each day during my rehab ( physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy) after a 23-hour brain surgery in 1990. The GKRS was done in 2001 and was listed as one of the factors of my cognitive decline. (I've had pretty severe memory problems in the short-term memory region.)
