Weaning off ACE inhibitors and Beta Blockers

Fellow travellers:

A question -

My heart function was affected by the Herceptin so I was started on ACE inhibitors and Beta blockers. My cardiologist tells me that I should stay on for at least a year because they 'restructure' the heart muscle after it has been damaged. He tells me that many folks stay on them indefinitely.

Over time, I want to wean myself off and I've been poking around the internet trying to find out what standard guidance there is on this. However, apart from some stuff about stopping enalapril if you are trying to get pregnant, I can't find anything.

Has anyone take ACE inhibitors and/or beta blockers and then stopped? What was the process.... Please share
