Interesting studies are being done on why organ injury and carcingens can be more potent in some mice with MIC-1 depletion.Also, GDF 14/15 may regulate parenchymal cell proliferation after tissue injury and the cytokine inflammatory response. Such studies give interesting ideas why some individuals may get cancer when others don't.
