I have also wondered if hormonal therapy delays recurrence OR is it possible that ER/PR+ cancers don't come back as often as the ER/PR- tumors? I was DX 5 1/2 yrs. ago and took tamoxifen for 8 months the side effects were horrible I then took Arimidex for 3 1/2 yrs. It has been 10 months since I stopped and I think so far so good, I am going for a PET scan next month just to be sure that the spine problems are from arthritis and not mets I also have a strange lump deep in the arm pit that the surgeon is going to check out. So I wonder how long after hormone treatment ends do the ER+ cancer's return (if/and when) ?
