A couple months ago, after deciding to toss most of my non-stick frying pans, I started using my mom's old cast iron pans. (My mom passed away 12 years ago and I have a few of her things stored in my home). To make a long story short, it's just amazing how well these pans work! Heat spreads evenly, no stick, easy clean-up. They are heavy but that's the only drawback that I can think of.
