Hi Beth - lots of answers to your questions. Hope it's not too much info. Started Herceptin and Taxatere in May 2003 on a weekly dose. After the first 3 months the scans came back very possitive and both the liver tumors (that's were it met to - two of them) and breast tumor shrunk significantly. The second 3 months of the same treatment - no change to the scans. The third set of treatments- it grew again. No surgery as of yet they don't think they will gain anything from surgery with it being on the liver. I am now on a new chemo program that is every 3 weeks which is herceptin (weekly still) taxatere and carbo. Have been through 3 of 6 treatments and had VERY positive results on the last scan. The breast tumor had grown significantly in about 3 weeks when I was still in the weekly of herceptin and taxatere. Once they put me on the new treatment with carboplanin (spelling??) the tumor has shrunk in my breast 80% and one of the tumors on my liver is undectable.
When did you get diganosed? Are the talkig about surgery?
