You have made it through the most difficult part. The Herceptin will be a walk in the park compared to chemo and radiation.

I had the TRAM with complications. Make sure to get 2 or more opinions. If you can find a plastic surgeon who has great success with DIEP reconstructions - that is a great alternative.

I believe the standard of care has changed with the choice of blood supply used since my reconstruction.

Find all the information you can, ask lots of questions, especially to the Her2 ladies who have had reconstruction.

Diagnosed 2007
Stage IIb Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Pagets, 3 of 15 positive nodes

Traditional Treatment: Mastectomy and Axillary Node Dissection followed by Taxotere, 6 treatments and 1 year of Herceptin, no radiation
