KSGal, what you are experiencing is called "chemo curl". For some reason our hair often wants to come in curly. It will revert to the usual eventually. Although mine is thinner than it was before cancer.
During chemo my hair did not come out in clumps. It was just a gradual thinning until I looked a bit ostrich-like!
