A MUST WATCH -Iodine and BC VERY thoughtprovoking

A must watch - this fits into a pattern of increasing iodine deficiency in western populations. I had not seen a suggestion that iodine deficiency may be a significant factor in breast cancer until today.

I think the suggestions being made as part of a wider view may well be seen to be fundamental in years to come. I think I recognise a fellow 'nerd' (passion and a high level of application to the exclusion of other life activities)

This interlinks with the reading and writing I have been doing on Omega 3 and 6 and a wider theory held by some we developed as shoreline dwellers. It again highlights the package of nutrients found in marine and shoreline foods is fundamental to health.

Marine and shoreline foods are high in iodine and minerals and well as a mix of vitamins. Iodine is key to brain development.

Long chain fats are easily oxidised and it is essential the body has the raw materials to make antioxidants, and antioxidants from food to protect the long chain polyunsaturated Omega 3s from uncontrolled oxidation. Iodine may have a role as an antioxidant.

Inflammation and oxidative stress have a part to play in many illnesses but gulping down C and E is probably not the answer - it is a good deal more complex but at a basic level comes down to a supply of the basic nutrients we need.

Mineral levels in soil have dropped on average by about 50% over the last 50 years.

Iodine as well as its function in the human thyroid has been suggested to have wider antioxidant properties. Iodine/iodide are highly used as antioxidants in marine organisms.

The lecturer is a Doctor and author, but clearly you must discuss any thought of supplementation with your medical advisers. These links are posted for information only.

Start with lecture 2 which deals with BC and I suspect you will find thought provoking.
