Everyone,
I agree it's over the top ( especially the jeans) but hey what can I say, lots of pink around my house. In my area the salons are doing pink hair extensions for 10.00 and the full amount is going to research. I took myself and my three daughters and paid the 40.00. The salon actually had 15 posters of women who had lost their lives to bc, pictures of these women w/ their stories. One of the stories was written by a 10 year old daughter. The positive side is that most of the girls in one of my daughters class now have the hair extensions and my daughter has written an essay about needing more money for cancer research (not just breast cancer), and the entire class has signed on and the teacher is sending the letter to our representative. Maybe it will fall on deaf ears BUT I believe the kids will remember the experience. I do think the ugly side of cancer was protrayed better in this promotion rather than "buy my product" promotions. I am glad to see the salon display the posters, showing lives cut too short. Also, I DON'Tt want Safeway to stop bc awareness month, a lot of money is raised. You know it's kind of like the "what difference does it make to a starfish on the beach" maybe one dollar will make the difference. Money for research - I support. Love ya,
