It's so important...

to be our own best advocate... to support and care about each other, especially when we can't do that for ourselves - all these things Sandy represented to so many. As I have tried to process in my mind the painful loss of someone I never had the opportunity to meet in person, and yet cared so much about, I realized that Sandy represented "the fight" in me to me. She knew when to ask for help, when to care for others, well, you know, all the right things. Sheila, thanks for encouraging us to sign her book and say our goodbyes. I had forgotten about how my grandmother had taught me that saying goodbyes to those we lose, allows us to move on and keep living. I feel so blessed and grateful for this group of "fighters" that enriches my life daily. But I needed to say my goodbyes and reclaim my inner fighter and giver. God bless the family that shared Sandy with us. May they find peace and comfort in the months ahead. ma
